Try and un-hook the negative from the battery and leave it unhooked for about 10 minutes, then hook it back up and see if it comes back on. If it does, then I would take it back and let Auto Zone hook it up again and see what it says.

Where is heater control valve on a 2000 Jeep wrangler?

By heater control valve I’m assuming you mean water control valve? A valve that controls the coolant entering your heater core? There isn’t one on a 2000 Wrangler or a 2000 Cherokee, for that matter. Jeep hasn’t used a water control valve since 1996- figured it wasn’t necessary anymore. And the only thing controlling your blend door ( a door in your dash that directs are to or away from your heater core) is an electric motor actuated by your temp knob. If you’re talking about something else all together, give me another hint.
